    Feel the adrenaline on the ice with a professional race car.
    Earn the certificate by going on board of the Icebreaker Cruise and swim into the icy water wearing a floating thermal overall. Go downhill on Skis or snowboard in Finnish or Swedish Lapland where snow is guaranteed during the winter season (ski season starts mostly in the end of December or the beginning of January).
    Enjoy the beautiful nature of Swedish Lapland on a husky tour. Go off the trail with the snowmobile and control the deep snow.

    This week package is for you who loves adventure. Go and explore the benefits of the cold and go driving a car on the frozen lake. Show your ski or snowboard skills during our ski trip. Take a dip in the frozen Baltic Sea with a floating thermo overall. Drive snowmobile on trails and untouched snow and go for much more adventure. Between these extreme activities you can relax in our sauna or bar. Why not try out an ice bath after the sauna.

    What to Expect

    Close by the border of Swedish and Finnish Lapland you’ll find the Lappkåtan of Långforsen. In our 8 days Icy adrenaline week we include an 3 hours Ice Breaker cruise, a full day ski trip, a Husky sleigh ride, a full day snowmobile tour and the unique experience of driving in a rally car on ice or in the forests . Beside the adventure you will be able to relax in our Kåtan (bar & restaurant) and in our Wilderness spa. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included during your stay. In case that northern lights are predicted, we will go on a Northern Light safari. You will have some free time to relax at Långforsen and discover the close by area or to opt for another typical Lapland activity as meeting the reindeers.

    Day 1Arrival in Rovaniemi, Finland

    We will be waiting for you at the airport of Rovaniemi (2h driving), Kemi (1h driving) or Luleå(1h30 driving) where you arrive. From here we head to our traditional Långforsen LappKåtan where you will be guided to your room to unpack and come to rest after your flight. 

    You are always welcome for a drink in the bar or go for a walk. Extra optional activities are also available on site.

     

    In the restaurant we will run through the program and try out the thermo overall.

    In the evening you will enjoy a great dinner in our restaurant.

    Day 2Brunch & Spa

    Today it’s all about relaxing!
    In the morning you can read a book or play board games at the lounge of långforsen Lappkåtan or have a morning walk with the sunrise. At 10:00 we’ll serve you a delicious brunch. After brunch we’ll prepare some holes in the ice and we’ll learn you the basics of ice fishing.

    2.1 Mini course “How to make a campfire”

    We will teach you how to make a successful fire and how to maintain it.

    2.2 Wilderness Spa 

    Relax during the afternoon in our wood-fired sauna by the river, after which you can take a dip in the snow or icy water. Optionally, you can choose for our Finnish smoke sauna. (This is a unique experience in a black and dark wood fired sauna. This sauna has no chimney and needs more than 5 hours to warm up and get rid of the smoke through the door and windows.) Connected to the Swedish wood fired sauna, there is an extra relax room to change clothes and have some drinks and snacks by the stove.

    The 2 saunas are located by the river and the campfire on a quiet spot in nature. We provide some included local tapas at the sauna, as well as bathrobes and sauna towels. You can order some optional drinks in the bar to take with you.

    Day 3Snowmobile day with lunch

    After breakfast we discover the beautiful forests of Swedish Lapland by snowmobile. There is a good chance that we will spot reindeer or moose on our way. The snowmobile tour is private in your own company with a guide. (A driver’s license B is required to drive a snowmobile). During our trip we will have some campfire lunch and Swedish coffee. If we are with 4 guests we’ll drive with 2 persons per snowmobile and give you the chance to switch drivers during the tour. The snowmobile tour is a full day activity ( 4-5 hours).

    Day 4Husky sleigh-ride

    We start the day with a delicious breakfast in our Kåtan where after you go on a Husky sleigh ride in the forests of Swedish Lapland. After the activity you will enjoy a lunch prepared with local products.
    Enjoy a free afternoon where you can take a walk in nature, have a nice warm drink in our LappKåtan,
    you can opt for an optional activity or for our free extras such as snowshoeing.

    4.1 Movie Night

    The evening ends with dinner in the restaurant followed by a Movie Night on a big screen with snacks to choose from and an included drink.

    Day 5Ice breaker cruise

    Today you’ll go on a 3 hours during Ice breaker cruise. Located on only 15 minutes from Långforsen there is the famous Ice breaker cruise which they call one of the most arctic experiences. Go on board and feel the ice cracking. Learn more about the cruise by an audio guide. Walk on the Baltic sea or if you dare, float in the icy water with a floating overall.

    5.1 Visit Kalix

    After the icebreaker cruise we go and visit the village of Kalix. Here you can walk along the enlightened path of the Kalix river or visit the city center.

    The evening ends with dinner in the restaurant.

    Day 6Driving on ice

    Today you meet Peter. He’s going to learn you all the technics to control a vehicle on ice or snow in the forests or on his professionally prepared ice circuit on the lake (depending on the weather and ice conditions). You will accompany him in a rally car. Even if you’re not a big car fan, this activity is fun and adrenaline guaranteed.

    In the late afternoon we’ll make a small tour by snowmobile and panoramic sleigh on the look out for some northern lights.

    6.1 Snowshoeing trip

    After breakfast, we can first drop you off on a good place for snowshoeing. You will get the right instructions on how to walk with snowshoes. It is up to you and your own pace, because snowshoeing can be quite intensive.

    Day 7Skiing / Snowboarding day

     

    We will leave after breakfast to one of the local ski slopes in Swedish or Finnish Lapland.  When we arrive, you will be able to rent skis, a snowboard or other needed equipement by the ski rental (ski rental is not included). Your ski pass is already included.

    The evening ends with dinner in the restaurant.

     

     

    Day 8Transfer to Rovaniemi Airport

    After an unforgettable trip in Swedish Lapland we’ll drive you back to the airport in Finland. We will provide you if needed an early breakfast depending on your flight time. If you’re flight is later in the day you can enjoy some free time at Långforsen or make a walk in the village. The schedule may change according to your flights. Check-out of the rooms is at 11:00 (There is the possibility to store your luggage in our luggage room after check-out.)

    +Aurora Hunt

    When the timing and weather conditions are right, we can go and look at the magical Aurora Borealis. We go out and hunt for the perfect viewing location, this can be by car, snowmobile, walk, … .

    The perfect opportunity to get a stunning photo.

    Since Långforsen is located near the Arctic Circle, we have a good chance of witnessing strong dancing northern lights!

    ( There is a big chance you can see it during your stay. However, this can never be guaranteed )
