About one hour from the Polar circle and only 15 minutes from the Baltic Sea, You’ll find our unique Teepee shaped building that’s called the Lappkåtan. This is our main building and restaurant where we come together and serve breakfast and dinner. In front of the Lappkåtan we do have a free parking lot for our guests. In our winter tours that you can book on our website we include a shuttle service during the whole tour, so you don’t have to think about renting cars and driving in winter.
Sweden is known for well formed roads in winter. The snow is regularly cleared to keep the roads in good condition. To get to us from the airport you only need main roads that lead through some beautiful scenery and give you the chance to see some reindeer.
By plane you can reach us via Luleå, Kemi or Rovaniemi airport. We can personally advise you on flights. If you booked a winter tour we will wait for you with our shuttle at the airport of Rovaniemi. At this airport you get directs flights from Belgium and other destinations. Before we drive into the countryside of winter wonderland and look out for some beautiful views, we will make in most of the tours first a visit to Santa Claus Village where you can meet Santa Claus himself and his reindeer. By driving from Finnish to Swedish Lapland you will see the landscape changing to a more rural nature with less tourism.
Where to fly to
- Kallax Luleå Airport 114 km
- Kemi Airport 72 km
- Rovaniemi Airport 166 km (By booking a winter tour please book your flight to Rovaniemi Airport)
Driving in Lapland can give you opportunities to spot road crossing elk and reindeers so be on the lookout. If you see a black garbage bag or fluorescent vest hanging along the road, this is a sign that you should slow down, this is a point where reindeer or moose often cross the road.
Enjoy your trip and the winter magic of Swedish Lapland.
